A brief history in time,
a long journey of success.

  • 1999

    Foundation
    GN1 began its activities in São João da Boa Vista, a city in the interior of São Paulo state, creating small customized systems and websites for various companies.
  • 2001
    Focus on the medical field.
    Strategically, in 2001, the company took a significant step by focusing on the medical field, securing a contract with an important otorhinolaryngology medical association. Shortly thereafter, the portfolio expanded, adding new areas such as pulmonology, pediatrics, hematology, and cardiology, with many others to follow.
  • 2003
    Management Systems
    With a constant presence in the scientific field, GN1 introduces three innovative solutions: SGP, focused on the peer-review management of scientific articles; SGA, a cloud-based system designed for managing members of various medical associations; and SCC, a platform responsible for controlling course and conference registrations.
  • 2007
    Consolidation in the Editorial Market
    Always with a forward-looking vision, it consolidated its presence in the scientific publishing market, being certified by SciELO Brazil for HTML and XML conversion and markup. With the quality demonstrated in XML production for SciELO Brazil, the options expanded, and new services were added to the portfolio: DOI assignment with its own prefix at CrossRef, digitization of collections, typesetting, editing, proofreading, and normalization of articles, as well as Medline XML production.
  • 2009
    National Reference
    GN1 becomes a national reference in scientific editorial production, having been highly praised by various Brazilian scientific editors, notably Prof. Dr. Domingo Braile (in memoriam), a great friend and supporter of our work.
  • 2011
    XML Production
    GN1 turns its focus to the international market and begins XML production using the PMC - PubMed Central methodology from the USA. This enables us to offer services for other indexing databases, such as DOAJ and Redalyc. We currently produce PMC XML and SciELO XML for over 80 scientific journals in 5 countries, and also submit files produced for Scopus, EBSCO, Educ@, among others.
  • 2012
    Mobile Development
    With strong investment in R&D and infrastructure, we trained our team to cater to the emerging mobile market. In 2012, we began developing Apple and Google apps for medical journals, making full article content available in HTML, PDF, and ePub formats.
  • 2014
    Restructuring
    Challenges increase with technological advancements. An internal restructuring is carried out to update systems and create new products and services. We formed partnerships with editors to fully update the scientific journal management system.
  • 2017
    Launch of GnPapers
    A new system, very similar to ScholarOne, was officially presented at the ABEC (Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors) conference in Curitiba/PR. Shortly thereafter, GnPapers was certified by SciELO Brazil, becoming a fully national option for managing scientific articles.
  • 2024
    Internationalization

    GN1 is a publisher with a strong presence in the scientific market and beyond. In our pursuit of excellence, we have invested heavily in the internationalization of our services, the qualification of our team, and the reinforcement of our quality standards, so that all our clients can reap these benefits.
