HTML or hypertext markup language is an older language that makes up a large part of the pages in the virtual medium. It is a simpler standard than the XML metalanguage; however, it is very effective in structuring a website or marking the structures of each key element of an article.
GN1 performs the conversion and marking service in the old SciELO methodology (HTML-SGML DTD methodology) and is still used by some indexers, such as the PePSIC portal. Nevertheless, such conversion and marking are mainly continuously applied in the systematic publication of articles in scientific journal sites. One of the differences from GN1 HTML is the insertion of the ORCID icon in the authors.
